As I posted earlier, my lovely daughter was born two weeks ago. When my son was born three years ago, I did a strip with him in it, and so I thought I’d keep the tradition going. Hers is, of course, above. Here’s his, from August 2008.

I am going to say there is a reference to Calvin and Hobbes in the three books on the bookshelf. I assess that they are labeled Time Travel, Animals, and Tree Houses.

The books weren’t a C&H reference, but you did get 2 out of 3 of the books correct: Tree Houses and Time Travel. The third book is about Animation.
And indeed! The picture on the bookshelf is of Scrooge.

Also the person in the picture looks a bit like Scrooge McDuck, possibly Flintheart Glomgold, but unlikely.
